When I joined Pais, I wanted to experience a year focused on the growth and development of others but had no idea how much I, personally, would grow and develop in my own faith. Shortly after accepting Jesus, I became passionate about reaching out to students in my school. I was very involved in local mission projects, Bible studies on my high school campus, and occasionally met with a few girls to talk through big life issues that they were facing. I struggled relating to them. I knew how to quote Scripture but felt that something was missing in my delivery of gospel-centered truth. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Everything we do in Pais is done intentionally. What you learn through a Pais apprenticeship plays a part in the advancement of the Kingdom. Learning how to study Scripture using “Haverim Devotions” has allowed me to read Scripture and practically apply its principles in my life. My mentoring approach has developed not only so that it equips those I mentor but begins a chain reaction of “influencers” for the Kingdom. We all have a part to play, but I think a lot of people struggle with the “How?”. That’s where Pais steps in. By providing resources in mission, discipleship and Bible study, Pais equips you to be more effective for the Kingdom of God. I feel I now have the strategy, and consequently the confidence, that I was lacking at high school. I can teach others how to think and not what to think and point them in the right direction to discovering God for themselves.
This can be your story too. If you have a passion for reaching the nations, want to develop your skills and desire to be an influence for the Kingdom, then Pais is for you! Having the opportunity to serve in this capacity has been the greatest journey of my life. I am part of a movement that is pouring into local churches and communities worldwide. I am a missionary from USA for USA! It starts with you! Choose to play an active part in God’s plan!
